Part of me didn't want to post this ... it felt sort of like bragging. The other side of me said ... this is a paycheck, I wouldn't tell my employer "no ... keep it this time, it seems like too much". So I am going to post publicly what I call a 'paycheck' from my son:
"... Thank you for everything that you've done for me. Sometimes as I walk around the streets, or go to people's houses and see the way that families treat each other, especially parents towards their children, I wonder if there's any love in Britain any more. People are so rude to each other, and it makes me sad. It's very different from the way that you raised me, so thank you. Thank you for loving me, I'm beginning to see all of the little things that you did for me that I didn't realize you did before, so thank you. I love you, and I pray for you every night before I go to sleep. I pray for the whole family. I love you, and thank you. I want everyone's parents to love their children like you did me. Like you DO me. So thank you again... ". I pray for him each night as well.
Jed sent a few pictures, one is a brother from Uganda that was baptized into the Church, he says also, "...We'll hopefully have a baptism this Saturday, which is awesome! She's from Turkey...". These baptisms represent one of Jed's purposes in serving the Lord, and are really wonderful experiences. I was touched also with Jed's other comments - which might appear to be at the other end of the spectrum of people hearing the word, accepting it and becoming baptized. He says, "...[w]e've been so busy though, I don't even know where to start with our week! I've just seen so many little tender mercies over the past week. It's been rainy all week, and so we've been constantly wet, but the Lord blesses us to find people in the rain. For example, on Thursday, it was wet, cold, rainy, windy, and overall just not a good day, but we had some good stuff set up, so it was going to be ok. But it ended up that every single one of our appointments cancelled on us, and so we were out in the weather all day long. And do you know what? Nothing miraculous happened at the end of the day. But I know that whatever the Lord was doing, just like it says in 2 Nephi 2:24, "ALL things are done in the wisdom of him who knows all things". If nothing more, I came closer to my Savior that day, and if that's what Heavenly Father had in store for me, then I'm grateful for that. I feel love in my life, and I feel like I'm getting better at showing that love to other people, and I'm grateful for that as well..."
In a recent post Jed told us about an incident where he had "loads of cream" on his face ... I post that picture as well, it seems there was an issue while eating where the cream 'exploded' on him.
