So I got a letter from Jed today. He did not yet provide his new address, but I will add it to the Contact tab above when I get it (so his email address, mission address - you can always send mail there, and current address will be there). Love the "Cherrio".
Here is his letter:
Hey guys!
So, I got a ton of questions, so I'll just tell you all about what's going on and hopefully that'll answer everything. First, I'M OUT OF THE MTC!! :) It was a good experience, but I'm excited to be talking to real people. I'm serving right outside London in the Enfield area with a companion called Elder Rodriguez. He's training me, and it has been a HUGE blessing to work with him. He's from the Dominican Republic, but his english is fantastic, so we've talked to a lot of people. He's a great trainer, and he has a lot of patience and kindness for me and for everyone else that he meets. Something else that I am grateful for is that he ALWAYS knows what to say, because he follows the Spirit. I'm certainly blessed to have him as my trainer. I'm trying to learn as much as I can from him, because he's the type of guy that you want to learn from, and that you can trust what you learn from him. Enfield is great. We live in a flat with two other elders, Elder Martin and Elder Randall. Both of them are from Utah, but Elder Randall moved to Texas in his more youthful years, so he says that he's from Texas. But he's really from Utah. It's really wet here, and it rains pretty much every day. So that waterproofing stuff would be nice. And I'd give you my address so you could send it to me, but I forgot it. Haha :) So next P-Day. Our ward (the Enfield Ward) is awesome. It's mostly Ghanean people actually (people from Ghana). So I'm learning some Tui (or however you spell it). That's the language of the Ghaneans. I'm having so much fun out here though. It's been pretty rough at times, we've already gotten yelled at, and some chap cursed at me in the church, but it's been amazing. We taught a guy named Gary in the church on Sunday, and it was really cool, because Gary is from Bolivia, so he doesn't speak a lot of english, but he does speak spanish, and so does Elder Rodriguez, because he's from the Dominican Republic. So we taught him the first lesson, and Elder Rodriguez invited him to be baptised, and he said yes! It was cool, because I had no idea what was going on in the lesson, but I could feel the Spirit, and I knew that the lesson was going the right way. I made a couple of comments, and they were translated, but I knew that I was saying the right things, because the Spirit was with me. It was amazing. Anyway, England is cool. I miss you guys, but this is where I'm supposed to be. And there's SO much other stuff that's happened, that I would love to talk about, but time is short. I'm sorry if I missed anything, I'll get it next week. :)
Cheerio,
Elder Murri
