We are currently waiting for his latest email. He is now out of the MTC and somewhere in the London England mission area with his companion.
Below are a series of messages from Jed.
I sent Jed an email the day he left. I got this the next day:

His Mom got this:
Hi Mom! It's been awesome, but it's certainly an emotional roller coaster. I've been incredibly happy one moment and then the next, frustrated out of my mind, but the one thing that's been constant here is the Spirit. It's amazing to be surrounded by so many good people all of the time. My companion is from a little place in northern Brazil, his name is Elder Silva. He hasn't ever eaten a peach or an apricot. And his English isn't fantastic, but he really puts in the effort to learn. Half of our companion study now is devoted to me teaching him English, and he's gotten better since he's been here. He's a really good guy though, and he has a really funny laugh. There's SO much diversity here, it's crazy. We probably have represented at this MTC (and I'm not exaggerating) 20 different countries. And there's only like 50 missionaries here. The food is good, and no, I have not cleaned my suitcases out yet. I don't really have the time, they keep us BUSY. There wasn't any waiting period before we started working either, it's literally one class/study/lesson after another from 6:30-9:30 every day. Also, just order the stuff and send it to me, if you would. That would make it a lot easier. There's so much stuff that I want to say, it's hard to write it all in an email (and by the way, you can send this out to everyone so everyone has something from me). That is cool though, tell Rachel thank you for me. That's really nice of her. :) She's a smashing girl, that's for sure. :) Thank you for helping me get out to serve! I've already seen that principle this week. Obedience brings blessings. That happens. That's why missionaries have so many commandments to follow, I think. One of the reasons, I guess. I'm thankful for SO many things, but if I had to pick, this week, I'm grateful that we can talk to our Heavenly Father, and He actually listens and responds to us. This week has been HARD for me, on so many different levels, and we pray here ALL OF THE TIME. Which is a really good thing, because I've come to realize that He's actually there! He actually listens to our prayers, and He cares about us. I KNOW that. He loves his missionaries, and He loves and blesses the families that send them out. (That's you guys.) We got to go to the Preston temple today too, and that was super cool. I've felt Heavenly Father's love for me by the way that I've felt this week. I took dad's advice and started REALLY praying. And it totally works. Prayer WORKS. I love you guys, and even though it's been a week, I miss you a ton. But I know that I'm doing the right thing, and I don't think that I've ever been happier in my life. :) The Gospel is the Good News of Jesus Christ, and The Book of Mormon is true. I love you guys. :)
Cheerio from Preston (soon to be London),
Elder Murri
I sent him another letter and so did his Mom.
Again, Me:
Hi Dad! It feels like I'm an old timer here, that's for sure. I feel like I've been here so much longer than a week. It feels like a month or something. Haha :) I think that that would be great, tweet out who would want to receive my emails on twitter, and I think that the password for fb is ***, so try that. Then just see who tweets back at you and you can forward the emails to those people. I haven't gotten any letters yet, but I think that you might have given them my mission-home address, not the MTC address. Unless you did, and it takes an unreasonably long time to get mail, which would be unfortunate. I'll just respond to the ones that I have now, but I'll write a general one too and send it to you, and you can do with it what you will. Thank you. I love you guys!
Elder Murri
His Mom:
Hey mum! So, I'm leaving to the field today, so there won't be any
emails until Monday. Sorry! Just letting you know though. I'll be at
the mission home later today, so I'm pumped for letters! Anyway, just
letting you know. I'll email again on monday. I'm pretty sure that
there was something else that I wanted to ask you, but I forgot,
because I got up at 4 this morning. Crazy. I'll let you know on monday
though. Love you guys! Cheerio! -Elder Murri
I also include a picture that the Mission President's wife sent of the missionaries (including Jed) in the MTC. I found it interesting the number of Sister Missionaries. I believe that the missionary effort (to give all of our Heavenly Father's children an opportunity to hear the gospel) is in wonderful hands.
